For my crochet Cherry Blossom top, I’ve used 300g Pure cotton fine (6 x 50 g) (50g= 170m/ 1.76oz= 185 yards) and a 3 mm hook.
For my Cherry Blossom crochet top I’ve used this yarn:
This is a very high-quality cotton yarn. This yarn is made from 100% combed Turkish cotton, which is soft, flexible, and exceptionally durable. Textiles in Turkish cotton stay beautiful for many years and only get softer with use. This yarn also excels when it comes to its absorbing powers, but is quick-drying at the same time. The color chart includes plenty of gorgeous colors, you just have to decide what color you like and get started. You can buy this yarn HERE.
The final dimensions of the crochet Cherry Blossom top: are 45 cm/17.7 inches in width (90cm/35.4 inches bust circumference) and 43 cm/17 inches long.
ABBREVIATIONS:
ch= chain;
st= stitch;
sc= single crochet;
hdc= half double crochet;

The neckline and the shoulders for the Cherry Blossom crochet top:
First shoulder:
1. Row 1: ch 2 (don’t count as a dc), crochet 18 double crochet;
Repeat row 1 until you have 10 rows crocheted.
The second shoulder:
Start the second shoulder from the inside and crochet to the edge of the front panel and crochet it like the first one.
Crochet a single crochet stitch all around the front panel and then around the back panel, both on the right side (in corners crochet 2 sc in one stitch). I like to crochet this round of single crochet because the edges look better and it’s an easy way to add stability and flatten curling pieces. In addition, it’s easier to join together the two panels. Plus the neckline looks better too, but you can skip this step if you like.
To work this single crochet edge, always insert your hook from front to back under both loops of the previous crochet stitches. Crochet this edge from the right side of the piece and from right to left. If you crochet with your left hand, reverse the direction.
Sew together the front and back panels leaving enough space for the sleeves, then sew together the shoulders. After you finish sewing together the front panel and the back panel don’t cut the yarn, use it to crochet the sleeve starting the sleeve from that point.

After you finish the last row don’t cut the yarn and on the same side start to crochet a round of sc. Making an sc edge adds stability and flattens curling pieces. Plus if you make this round it will be much easier to crochet the next one, which is very important because this round gives the puff look of the sleeve. For the next round you have to follow the next steps (first see the photo below):
- Sew together the sleeve,
- Then on the right side crochet sc in each stitch that is under the arm part;
- Then crochet 3 sc together all around the sleeve cap;
- Crochet sc in each stitch in the underarm stitches.
After you finish the sleeve don’t cut the yarn and sew it on the top.
Repeat the pattern for the second sleeve.

Repeat row 2 until you finish the ribbing.
The ribbing:
1. Row 1: start with 21 chains and crochet the half double crochet starting with the second chain from the hook (you should have ten half double crochet stitches);
2. Row 2: ch 1 (don’t count as a stitch), hdc in back loop in each stitch of the previous row;
Repeat row 2 until you finish the ribbing.

The back panel has 39 rows while the front panel has 36 rows. The shoulders of the back panel have 7 rows while on the front panel they have 10 rows. I’m confuse on how to sew these two panels together or how to align them. Can you tell how the parts are aligned for sewing?
Yes, this is correct! The back and the front panel have the same number of rows: 39+7=36+10=46 rows. The two panels will be aligned perfectly.
Your pattern states: Repeat row 2 until you have 28 rows. But the next instruction is for row 25. Would you please clarify?
Done! Thank you for your comment!
