Crochet Crazy Love Top- free pattern

Introducing the Crochet “Crazy Love” Top. I’ m so thrilled about this pattern: it’s easy to crochet, it has a little shaping- that makes it perfect for beginners and it looks so beautiful!

The crochet “Crazy Love” top looks very cool and it became a basic in my wardrobe: I wear it with jeans, skirts and shorts. I love to wear it with the sleeves folded, I think it looks classic and cool at the same time.

For my crochet  top I’ve used almost 300 g (6 x 50 g) cotton yarn and a 2,5 mm hook.

The pattern only uses basic stitches: ch, sc and dc and is very easy to crochet.

The final dimensions of the Crazy Love top are: 49 cm width and 52 long (including the shoulders).

For this project I’ve used this yarn:

This is a very high quality cotton yarn. The mercerisation process gives the cotton a fantastic sheen and makes it even more durable. The color chart includes plenty of gorgeous colors, you just have to decide what color you like and get started. Here you can buy this yarn: http://bit.ly/3cRiCMP

Repeat the pattern from round 6 until you reach the desire width. My top has 29 rounds and 49 cm width.

The neck line and the shoulders:

After you reach the desired size and crochet the last round continue with 2 ch, turn and crochet dc until the end of the row, ch 2, turn and crochet the 2nd row of dc (these 2 rows are crocheted just to one side of the square, the side you choose to make the neck line).

Ch 2, turn and crochet 30 dc for the first shoulder, ch 1, turn and crochet 30 sc.

Cut the yarn and crochet the second shoulder:

First row: ch 2, 30 dc;

The second row: ch 1, 30 sc.

If you need bigger/smaller shoulders just crochet how many dc you need for the first row and continue with the same number of sc for the second row.

Crochet the second piece exactly the same.

Sew together the front and back panel leaving a space for the sleeves and sew together the shoulders too.

The sleeves:

I’ve crocheted the sleeves directly on the top. But you can crochet them separately and sew it on the top.

Round 1: ch 2, 92 dc, finish the round with a sl st.

Repeat round 1 seven times.

Round 8: ch 1, 92 sc, finish the round with a sl st.

The hem:

Because I wanted the top a little bit longer I’ve crocheted 3 rounds of dc and one round of sc.

  1. What size is the Crazy Love Top supposed to come out as? You have no gauge or measurements in the pattern. Would love to make this for my step- sister who is quite thin.
