This “Just relax” crochet lapghan it’s a fast and simple crochet pattern to make and a perfect way to learn new stitches. This free pattern it’s perfect if you are looking for a textured crochet lapghan that looks beautiful, elegant, and special. If you are looking for a lap blanket crochet pattern free for beginners this pattern is perfect for you. The free pattern for the Just Relax crochet lapghan has the written instructions and the chart too and the video tutorial it’s on my to-do list, so keep an eye on my YouTube channel.

Most of the time I get bored after working one week on a project but this one was different. I’ve enjoyed every single stitch, it was like a meditation! It was my stress relief project. It didn’t matter how many mistakes I made or how many rows I had to frog, it didn’t make me mad, I just enjoyed the process of creating something for myself.

I love how the single crochet, double crochet, and the linked double crochet stitches look together, they create a solid fabric and the result is a strong, durable fabric that is ideal for crocheting blankets. And the textured pattern will hold up very well in the washing process. But also, I think this is a great stitch for textured crochet baby blankets, sweaters, cardigans, dish wash and so many other projects that ask for a great texture and an excellent drape.

This pattern is an easy-to-crochet lapghan but is not a crochet blanket for beginners, so if you are a beginner don’t make this project your first big project until you didn’t practice the stitches first. Crochet single crochet stitches, double crochet stitches, and linked double crochet, and be careful with your tension. The crochet tension is important when you crochet or knit, so you can use a crochet tension ring or a crochet tension holder at the beginning.

For my “Just relax” crochet lapghan, I’ve used 600 g of Baby Summer (12 x 50 g) (50g= 160m/ 1.76oz= 174 yards) and a 3,5 mm crochet hook.

cottonSoft, wonderful cotton yarn combined with acrylic results in a lightweight yarn.

The cotton adds breathability and comfort while the acrylic makes the yarn lighter and helps keep its shape. A perfect combination where both acrylic and cotton get to show their best qualities.  It feels light and is soft and comfortable against the skin. Furthermore, it is ideal for kids’ clothing since it is easy to wash and stays neat.

The cotton content makes for slightly firmer fibers making it easy to work with for both knitting and crocheting. It’s easy to get the stitches nice and even. And is suitable for everything from sweaters and dolls to pillows, baskets, and bags.

It’s a good choice if you want to use yarn without animal fibers – or if you experience discomfort with wool. You can buy this yarn HERE.

The gauge for the stitch: for 10 cm (4″) with a 3,5 mm hook:  25 stitches x  16 rows.

The final dimensions are 83 cm x 115 cm ( inches x  inches)

You can wash it by hand or in a washing machine at 30 degrees.  So if you’ve used the yarn I’ve recommended for this project you can iron the Just Relax crochet lapghan. If you’ve used another yarn read the label for the instructions. But if you’re not sure just block it using your favorite method.
