For my Bamboo Crochet Spa Set, I’ve used 150 g Cotton Bamboo (3x 50g) (100g= 140m/ 3.53oz= 153 yards) and a 4.5 mm hook.
Delightful and luxurious bamboo fibers meet soft and fine cotton!
A special yarn in 100% natural fibers has been made and it’s a dream to crochet with it.
Bamboo fiber is very strong and adds extra durability to the cotton. It is also breathable and regulates temperature.

The gauge for the washcloth: for 10 cm (4″) with a 4.5 cm hook: 17 stitches x 13 rows. The final dimensions are 23.5 cm x 21 cm (9,2 inches x 8.2 inches).
Abbreviations:
ch= chain;
ss= slip stitch;
st= stitch;
sc= single crochet;
hbhdc= herringbone half double crochet;
dc= double crochet;
2 dc tog= 2 double crochet together;
3 dc tog= 3 double crochet together.

First, let’s learn how to crochet the herringbone half double crochet stitch:

- For this stitch, you can start with any number of chains.
- Crochet a herringbone half double crochet stitch starting with 3rd chain from the hook: yarn over, insert hook in 3rd chain, yarn over and pull the yarn through the chain and first loop on the hook; yarn over and draw the yarn through both loops on hook- this is the first stitch.
- For the next stitch: yarn over, insert hook in next chain, yarn over, and pull the yarn through the chain and first loop on the hook; yarn over and draw the yarn through both loops on the hook.
- Repeat step 3 to the end of the row.
- For the second row, first stitch: chain 2, yarn over, insert the hook in the first stitch, yarn over and pull the yarn through the chain and first loop on the hook; yarn over and draw the yarn through both loops on the hook.
- Continue to crochet: yarn over, insert the hook in the next stitch, yarn over, and pull the yarn through the chain and first loop on the hook; yarn over and draw the yarn through both loops on the hook. Repeat step 6 until the end of the row.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 to finish the pattern.
Start with 40 chains.
1. Row 1: in the 3rd chain from the hook crochet a herringbone half double crochet stitch. Keep crocheting herringbone half double crochet in every chain until the end of the row. You should have 38 stitches.
2. Row 2: ch 2 (don’t count as a stitch) and crochet a herringbone half double crochet in the same stitch, Keep crocheting the herringbone half double crochet in every next stitch until the end of the row.
3. Row 3: repeat row 3 until you have 40 rows and crochet 2 rounds of single crochet for the edge.

Round 1: (128 sts) After you finish row 40 don’t cut the yarn, don’t turn your work, and start to crochet one round of single crochet. You’ll crochet 1 sc for every row on the length, 2 sc for corners, and 1 sc in every stitch for the width. Slip stitch to close the round. You should have 128 stitches.

Round 2: ch (don’t count as single crochet), sc in the same stitch and continue crocheting single crochet in every stitch. When you reach the corners crochet in the second stitch 2 single crochet stitches. Slip stitch to the first stitch of the round to close the round. You should have 132 stitches.

Leave a long tail and make a magic ring.
1. Round 1: crochet 10 sc, finish with a slip stitch in the first sc of the round;
2. Round 2: 2 ch, 3 dc in the same stitch, * 4 dc in the next sc of the previous round*, repeat *-* until the end of the round, finish with a slip stitch in the first dc of the round;
3. Round 3: 2 ch, 2 dc in the same stitch, *3 dc in the next dc of the previous round*, repeat *-* until the end of the round, and finish with a slip stitch in the first dc of the round;
4. Round 4: repeat round 3;
5. Round 5: ch 2 and crochet a dc in each stitch until the end of the round. Finish with a slip stitch.
5. Round 5: make 1 sc in every dc of the previous round, and finish with a slip stitch in the first dc of the round.
With the long tail make chains for the handle.
Cut the yarn end and weave in the ends.

Start with a magic ring.
Round 1: ch 2 (count as a dc), crochet 11 more double crochet stitches. Slip stitch to close the round.
Round 2: ch 2 (count as a dc) and in the same stitch crochet 2 dc tog, ch; *3 dc tog in next stitch, ch*. Repeat *-* in every stitch of the round. slip stitch to close the round. Make another slip stitch to go to the ch space and start the next round from here.
Round 3: ch 1 (don’t count as a stitch) and crochet sc in the same ch space. *In the next stitch crochet 3 dc and make sc in the next ch space*. Repeat *-* ten more times; crochet 3 dc in the next stitch and slip stitch in the first sc of the round.
Cut the yarn and Weave in the ends.
