I love chevron stitch and I think this pattern it’s perfect for a baby blanket. This crochet chevron baby blanket is a fast and easy pattern to crochet, you are going to love making it and it will look very beautiful.

I love this stitch not only because is easy and fast to crochet but because it looks beautiful in any solid color, in Ombre colors, and is perfect for those cake yarn we all love.

Of course, my model for this crochet chevron baby blanket was my cat, he just loves everything I crochet and he enjoys sleeping on my crocheted or knitting items. Every time I’m taking a break from crocheting I find him relaxing on my projects. In this article, you’ll find a few beautiful pictures of my boy taking his beauty sleep and enjoying this gorgeous crochet chevron baby blanket.

The dimension of the crochet chevron baby blanket is 91 cm in length X 91 cm in width (36 inches X 36 inches). I’ve used cotton from my stash (I bought a large quantity of cotton a few years ago and I’ve lost the label of it and unfortunately I don’t know the brand)  and a 3 mm hook.

The pattern only uses the double crochet stitch and the single crochet stitch (just for the edge) so is very easy to crochet. Is the perfect project if you are a beginner, and the texture is perfect for a baby blanket, not too textured not too airy.

I love the color (beautiful mustard, unfortunately, the light wasn’t too good and I didn’t succeed to capture the true shade of the color) and I think is perfect for both sex: girl or boy, but you can choose any color you love for your blanket.

You can use this pattern to crochet any kind of blanket, not just a baby blanket, you can crochet a lapghan or a throw blanket just for you or for someone you love. To adjust the width of the blanket, you need to start with a longer or shorter chain (keep yarn needs in mind). The beginning chain must be a multiple of 12 stitches. To make it longer simply crochet for more rows.

For this crochet chevron baby blanket I recommend this yarn that I’ve used making this baby blanket a few times already:

This is very high-quality cotton yarn. The mercerisation process gives the cotton a fantastic sheen and makes it even more durable. Here you can buy this yarn:

The written pattern for the crochet Chevron baby blanket:

Start with multiple 12 chains plus 3 chains.

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from the hook, dc in each of next 4 chains, *skip 2 ch, dc in each of next 5 chains, ch 2, dc in each of next 5 chains*, repeat *-* until you reach the last 7 chains. For the last 7 chains: skip 2 ch, dc in each next 4 chains, and crochet 2 dc in the last chain.

Row 2: ch 3 (count as double crochet stitch), dc in the same stitch, dc in each next 4 stitches; *skip 2 stitches, dc in each next 5 stitches (the 5th dc is in the ch space), ch 2, dc in the same ch space, dc in next 4 stitches*. Repeat *-* until you reach the last 7 stitches and crochet: skip 2 stitches, dc in each next 4 stitches, 2 dc in the last stitch.

Repeat the pattern from row 2 until you reach the desired length.

Tie off and weave in the ends.

The wavy edge created by the pattern looks so beautiful so I decided to crochet a simple border, in this way you won’t change the look of the edge.

Make an edge by working 2 rounds of single crochet stitch.

You can wash it by hand or in a washing machine at 30 degrees and iron it (only if you use cotton yarn) or block it.
